At the margins of the UN General Assembly, the President of Kosovo Dr. Vjosa Osmani and the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora Donika Gërvalla met with the President of Senegal Mr. Macky Sall.
President Osmani and Minister Gërvalla thanked President Sall for Senegal's commitment to recognition and strengthening of Kosovo's international subjectivity.
Madam President stressed that Kosovo is grateful for Senegal's support and expressed the readiness of Kosovo’s institutions to further expand this cooperation.
“Next year, your country will take over the presidency of the African Union,” said President Osmani. “This will be one additional opportunity to expand the dialogue with the countries of this organization in order for them to get to know our country better and to expand the possibilities of cooperation with the member states of this union.”
She expressed her confidence in the fact that Senegal will be a powerful voice and a strong bridge for affiliations with African countries.
The President stressed the importance of mutual visits, not only of institutional leaders but also of people of culture, art, healthcare and education. She invited the President of Senegal to visit Kosovo during his chairmanship of the African Union.
The two presidents also agreed that the governments of the two countries should continue their efforts to sign four important agreements with Senegal, which will bring our countries closer to each other.
