The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, said that on the International Day of Enforced Disappearances, we commemorate the open wound of Kosovo.
President Osmani wrote:
On the International Day of Enforced Disappearances, we commemorate the open wound of Kosovo. 1584 of our citizens are still missing. Behind every number is a life cut short, a family that has been waiting for justice for their loved ones for more than two decades.
The open graves are living evidence of war crimes and repeated crimes by the Serbian genocidal regime, as well as a daily reminder that justice has not yet been served. As long as thousands of our citizens remain missing, peace remains incomplete.
The Vucic regime continues to sleep on mass graves, holding hostage the unraveling of the fate of the missing. It is time for international partners to increase pressure on Serbia, because only the clarification of the fate of the missing and justice can bring to the families the peace they deserve.
