Ladies and Gentlemen,
It is a pleasure to see that so many friends of my country are participating at this ceremony, organised for the very first time in the Republic of Kosovo, standing together at this breakfast prayer.
This prayer, is an opportunity to, together, with all the differences that each and every one of us carries in themselves, pause and contemplate our actions and their influence in the daily lives of our citizens and their families.
The decisions taken by leaders have to do with day to day life and with the quality of the life of each citizen, therefore let us stop and analyze whether our daily challenges have caused us to forget the essential, the respect for the human life.
Republic of Kosovo is at a very important moment of the state strengthening period while having as a priority the interest of each citizen.
Kosovo today is a factor of peace and stability in the region, is a positive example of functionality of a multi-ethnic state and is a concrete example of the fact that diversity is a value of a society.
Republic of Kosovo, the youngest state in Europe, aims to present the best example on how good inter-ethnic and inter-religious relations are built and nurtured, being characterized by tolerance, understanding and cohabitation. This is identity. This is our freely expressed joint will, towards building of a democratic society of free and equal people, towards building of a legal state.
Honourable participants,
Faith is a motive, an additional impetus to achieve each aspiration with more dedication and love. I strongly believe that where there is good will and belief, success can be achieved. We should never forget that change begins with us, with our daily actions and interactions, in our daily lives.
Honourable participants,
Republic of Kosovo is a multi-ethnic state. Citizens of Kosovo, with various national, religious, cultural and linguistic backgrounds compile a wonderful mosaic, which demonstrates that irrespective of how different we each may be, while striving to conserve, cultivate and advance our identities, we are all very united in love which we carry for our country.
The more advanced the rights of different communities are within a state, the stronger the state is. These values cannot become part of our policy unless they are part of our hearts.
Changes do not come about with words alone, but with concrete actions. Let us speak less and work more, in congruence with beatified Mother Teresa’s advice:
“The yesterday is gone, tomorrow is not here as yet. All we have left is today. Let us begin”. She also said that “If there is no peace in the world today, this is because we have forgotten that we belong to each other”.
Let us all pray for each other. Let us think of our joint worldly goods. Let us all work in our own countries and for our own countries, while thinking for the better of everyone.
God bless you all!
God bless Kosovo!
Thank you very much.
