The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Madam Atifete Jahjaga has met the special envoy of Germany for the Balkans, Mr. Ernst Reichel with whom she discussed about the political situation in the country and Kosovo’s European agenda.
President Jahjaga informed Ambassador Reichel with her stance about the latest developments in the Kosovo Assembly calling the violence committed by some deputies of the opposition in the Assembly as unacceptable and a behavior that contradicts to the norms of a parliamentary democracy. She stressed that she has requested from the deputies of the Assembly of Kosovo to contribute to the relaxation of the situation in the Assembly and in respecting the democratic process.
President Jahjaga also stressed the commitment of the institutions of Kosovo for the European agenda which is expected to be concretized with the signing of the Stabilization and Association Agreement by the end of the year and the conclusion of the dialogue on visa liberalization, as the two first steps in the integration processes of the Republic Kosovo.
President Jahjaga thanked Germany and the other partner countries of Kosovo for supporting the membership of the Republic of Kosovo in UNESCO and other international organizations.
