President Jahjaga received the world renowned Albanian writer, Mr. Ismail Kadare

President of the Republic of Kosovo, Mrs. Atifete Jahjaga, received today at a meeting the well known Albanian writer and author, Mr. Ismail Kadare, accompanied by his wife, Mrs. Helena Kadare.

During a very amicable meeting, Madam President and Mr. Kadare discussed various political, social and cultural issues as well as the democratic processes which Kosovo is currently going through.

Biding Mr. Kadare a warm welcome and congratulating him upon the awarding of the “Ali Podrimja” International Prize, Madam President said that Mr. Kadare’s visit to Kosovo is a great honour for whole of Kosovo, an author whose opus continues to be an inspiration to all the generations.

She emphasized that Mr. Kadare’s contribution to Kosovo, both in the international press and global diplomacy circles is immense and of utmost influence.

Madam President also reiterated that Kosovo today is an independent and democratic state which aims membership into EU, NATO and UN.

Mr. Kadare congratulated President Jahjaga for her work and engagement, particularly on her efforts for the augmentation of Kosovo’s image throughout the globe. Mr. Kadare also spoke about European perspective of Kosovo, of Albania and of the whole Balkan region, stating that this is a natural choice for every country of the region.
