President of the Republic of Kosovo, Mrs. Atifete Jahjaga, received today at a meeting the UN Assistant Secretary-General for Peacekeeping, Mr. Edmond Mulet.
President Jahjaga informed Mr. Mulet with the general developments in our country, the dialogue process with Serbia and for pre-term general elections, which are to be held this coming Sunday. She also said that all citizens must exercise their right and elect their legitimate representatives.
President Jahjaga said that for 15 years Kosovo has achieved considerable advances in strengthening of its democratic institutions and in partnership with the international community has built an all inclusive state.
Madam President expressed the dedication to continue the cooperation with the United Nations and stated that institutions of Kosovo will contribute to, in partnership with the international community, successful conclusion of the UNMIK mission in Kosovo.
UN Assistant Secretary-General for Peacekeeping, Mr. Edmond Mulet, praised the advances achieved by Kosovo and emphasized the commitment of the international organisations to the advancement of all processes in Kosovo. He also said that dialogue and Kosovo’s convergence to the European Union remain the main pillars of the UN engagement in Kosovo.
Mr. Mulet thanked President Jahjaga for her representation of Kosovo at the Security Council and for the President’s role to the partnership with UN.
