The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Madam Atifete Jahjaga received today in a meeting the Rapporteur for Kosovo at the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, Mr. Agustin Conde.
President Jahjaga informed Mr. Conde about the general developments in our country highlighting the made progress and the commitment of the institutions in the successful implementation of the reforms on the path towards full integration into the European Union.
President Jahjaga and Mr. Conde discussed about the progress achieved in Kosovo in the field of human rights and freedoms, the rights of the communities, the overall democratic development and the rule of law, with particular emphasis on strengthening the independence of the judiciary.
President Jahjaga stressed the importance of the interaction of Kosovo with the Council of Europe and the as fast as possible advancement of the process of Kosovo’s membership in the Council of Europe.
