The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Madam Atifete Jahjaga, received today in a meeting the new chief of the EU mission for the rule of law in Kosovo, EULEX, Mr. Gabriele Meucci, with whom she discussed about the further cooperation of the mission with the institutions of the country , with the aim of extending the rule of law and order throughout territory of the Republic of Kosovo.
President Jahjaga, while welcoming Mr. Meucci to Kosovo, praised the work and commitment of the EULEX mission in the field of justice and especially the cooperation of the mission with the institutions of the Republic of Kosovo.
She said that the joint activities for the the rule of law and the fight against corruption and organized crime should be intensified and stressed the importance of raising the level of cooperation bona fide between the Kosovo institutions and EULEX according to its mandate, in order to build a reliable, credible and impartial justice system, which will help build the rule of law. President Jahjaga said that the institutions of Kosovo are committed to fulfill all standards and deepen reforms that improve the lives of the citizens of Kosovo, therefore contributing to their free movement in all countries of the EU, through the process of visa liberalization.
The Head of the EU rule of law mission, EULEX, Mr. Gabriele Meucci thanked President Jahjaga and the institutions of Kosova for the mutual cooperation. He said that the EULEX mission will continue to cooperate with all the institutions responsible for the rule of law in the field of law and order and to assist Kosovo particularly in the fight against corruption and organized crime.
