President of the Republic of Kosovo Mrs. Atifete Jahjaga received today for a meeting the new KFOR Commander, German General Walker Halbauer.
President Jahjaga emphasized the important role that KFOR has in Kosovo, in offering the stability and security to all the citizens. On this point, she mentioned the fact that KFOR mission is one of the most respected missions by the citizens of Kosovo, this due to the ongoing contribution that KFOR has provided for the past 13 years.
While on the issue of security, President Jahjaga said that integration of the three northern municipalities of our country remains a challenge but expressed her faith that this will happen in the near future, due to the readiness of the institutions for dialogue with all the citizens of the country.
President Jahjaga also said that after the end of the supervision of its independence, Kosovo has taken upon itself all the responsibilities in reaching of the criteria and attaining the standards necessary for Euro-Atlantic integration.
The new KFOR Commander Halbauer expressed the readiness of KFOR to provide its continuous contribution in fulfilling its mandate in the provision of a safe environment and stability in Kosovo.
