The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Mrs. Atifete Jahjaga received today, in a farewell meeting, the KFOR Commander, General Erhard Buhler, who soon concludes his mission in our country.
President Jahjaga thanked General Buhler for his contribution to peace and security in the country, at the head of the KFOR forces. She appreciates the professionalism of Gen. Buhler and said that KFOR is one of the most respected institutions in Kosovo.
The President of Kosovo stressed that with the departure of General Buhler, a professional is leaving from Kosovo, but Kosovo has gained a great friend. She said she highly appreciates the commitment of General Buhler and KFOR in support of the Kosovo Security Force, on the path of this force towards achieving full operational capacity and towards building the highest professional force.
Speaking about the general situation in the country, President Jahjaga said that she strongly supports the fight against organized crime and remission of illegal structures.
General Erhard Bühler, for his part, stressed that Kosovo can count on the constant support of KFOR and said it is important that in the north the investigations be developed and carried out. He also stressed the excellent cooperation of himself and KFOR with President Jahjaga.
Speaking about the KSF he said he is confident in the future of this force. General Bühler also stressed that KFOR will continue to fulfill its mandate to maintain a secure environment in Kosovo.
