President of the Republic of Kosovo, Mrs. Atifete Jahjaga, received today at a meeting Their Royal Highnesses, Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall, with whom she discussed overall developments in Kosovo.
President Jahjaga thanked His Highness, Prince Charles, for the essential role of the Great Britain to the freedom and independence of Kosovo and building of a stable democracy in our country.
President Jahjaga emphasized that Their Highness visit to Kosovo reconfirms special and strong ties between the Republic of Kosovo and United Kingdom.
President Jahjaga and His Highness Prince of Wales discussed the expansion of cooperation between Republic of Kosovo and United Kingdom, advancement of Kosovo in building of democratic state and the international recongnition of Kosovo. President Jahjaga added that United Kingdom’s support in this process continues to remain of great importance.
President Jahjaga and Prince of Wales also discussed joint engagements of Kosovo and United Kingdom in protection and promotion of inter-faith tolerance and prevention of sexual violence during the war. Economic development of the country and continuation of reforms aiming creation of new opportunities for the youth of Kosovo were also discussed at the meeting.
On this occasion, President Jahjaga awarded to His Highness Prince of Wales the Order of Peace, Democracy and Humanitarianism “Dr. Ibrahim Rugova” for his lifelong contribution to supporting of peace, harmony and understanding between people of Kosovo and beyond.
