President Jahjaga received Prime Minister Thaçi

President of the Republic of Kosovo Mrs Atifete Jahjaga received at a meeting today the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo Mr. Hashim Thaçi, who was accompanied by the Deputy Prime minister and Minister of Justice Mr. Hajredin Kuçi and the Foreign Affairs Minister, Mr. Enver Hoxhaj.

Prime Minister Thaçi acquainted President Jahjaga with the proceedings of the meeting held in Brussels with the Prime Minister of the Republic of Serbia, Mr. Ivica Dacic, as part of the dialogue process between the Republic of Kosovo and the Republic of Serbia, facilitated by European Union, and with the strong backing of the United States of America.

Prime Minister Thaçi classified the meeting as a constructive one, a meeting of equals that helps towards the normalisation of relations between the two states, as part of the building of good neighbourly policies, a condition for EU integration. Prime minister stated that continuation of the dialogue and full implementation of all agreements is in function of peace, stability and regional cooperation.

President of the Republic of Kosovo gave her support to the Prime minister and the Government of the Republic of Kosovo for the dialogue process and achievement of the national and institutional consensus for this issue, and considers the dialogue not only as the best way, but as the only alternative for the normalisation of relations between Kosovo and Serbia, as two sovereign countries and as neighbours who have had a very bitter past.

Continuation of the dialogue process eases the lives of the citizens of both states and is a contribution towards peace and stability and towards the successful accomplishment of the European journey, journey which both independent and sovereign states, Kosovo and Serbia, are traversing, helping each other on the way, and not by hindering each other, stated President Jahjaga.
