President of the Republic of Kosovo, Mrs. Atifete Jahjaga, received today at a meeting the European Union Enlargement Commissioner, Mr. Stefan Fule.
President Jahjaga and Commissioner Fule discussed the European agenda of the Republic of Kosovo, visa liberalisation process as well as importance of remaining of European integrations process a society wide endeavour.
Madam President thanked Mr. Fule for the contribution provided to the advancement of EU integration processes of Republic of Kosovo. She added that during the last two years, considerable progress has been achieved and we strive for this process to remain consistent and in accordance with the European perspective of the region.
President Jahjaga said that institutions of Kosovo remain dedicated to the continuation of all the necessary reforms for country’s EU membership. In lieu of this, she expressed her pleasure with the efficiency of conclusion of the negotiations on Stabilisation Association Agreement.
President Jahjaga and Commissioner Fule also discussed the visa liberalisation process, stating that considerable progress has also been achieved on this field as well and that Kosovo is interested to intensify engagements by both sides on visa liberalisation dialogue.
President Jahjaga also expressed the dedication of the institutions of the Republic of Kosovo on normalisation of relations with Serbia. She said that important agreements have been reached which must be followed by their implementation in practice, while it must be made clear to Serbia that its EU membership is conditioned by the normalisation of relations with Kosovo
European Union Enlargement Commissioner, Mr. Stefan Fule, emphasized that Kosovo has a clear European perspective and its international path depends on the achievements and accomplishment of reforms. He underlined that success in reform accomplishment will determine the dynamics of Kosovo’s integration processes.
