President of the Republic of Kosovo, Mrs. Atifete Jahjaga, together with the Prime Minister Mr. Isa Mustafa and the governmental cabinet, commenced with the activities marking the seventh independence anniversary and paid homage at the tomb of the President Ibrahim Rugova.
“Marking the seventh anniversary of the proclamation of independence, we came here to pay our respect to the first historic president, Dr. Ibrahim Rugova, ideologist of the independence of Republic of Kosovo, who managed to mobilise the whole nation of Kosovo around his platform for freedom, independence and democracy and to ensure strong support of the United States of America and member states of the European Union.
Kosovo is today a free, independent and sovereign state, with a cleat perspective of European and Euro-Atlantic integrations”, said President Jahjaga on a statement made on this occasion.
