President Jahjaga met with the President of Pakistan, Mr. Mamnoon Hussain

President of the Republic of Kosovo, Mrs. Atifete Jahjaga, met today in Ankara, Turkey, with the President of Pakistan, Mr. Mamnoon Hussain, with whom she discussed the relations between the two countries and Kosovo’s international consolidation.

President Jahjaga and President Hussain emphasized the need for the expansion of cooperation between two countries in all fields, particularly in the field of economy.

President Jahjaga stated that Pakistan’s help for Kosovo, since the end of the war, through their presence in international missions, has been of great importance and pointed out the need for building of good relations between two countries.

Speaking in relation to the international consolidation of Kosovo, President Jahjaga said that, apart from gaining membership in all regional, EU and NATO initiatives, Kosovo aims to conclude the UN membership process as well, and on this, the help of the countries supportive of Kosovo is necessary. Madam President said that Pakistan, with its influence in Asia, could help Kosovo in the process of recognitions and membership in various international initiatives, in particular in obtaining of recognitions form the member countries of the Organisation of Islamic Countries.

President Jahjaga stated that Kosovo is playing an important role as a factor of peace and stability in the Balkan region and is also a promoter of good neighbourliness. She added that Kosovo is being built as a democratic and all inclusive state and offers great potential for external investors, inclusive of a good legal infrastructure, which helps the business climate.

President Jahjaga extended an invitation to President Hussain to visit Kosovo at an appropriate time.

President of Pakistan, Mr. Mamnoon Hussain, said that Pakistan values its relations with Kosovo and is looking for possibilities for expansion of cooperation through various trade exchanges and visits. He added that Pakistan’s help for Kosovo will continue to be full and assured President Jahjaga on complete support of its country to the process of Kosovo’s international consolidation, especially its membership in important international organisations, including the Organisation of Islamic Countries.
