The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Madam Atifete Jahjaga, who is staying for a three-day official visit in Brussels, had a long meeting last evening with Mr. Stefan Füle, EU Commissioner for Enlargement and Neighbourhood Policy. At the meeting they discussed about the progress of Kosovo in the European integration process, and they discussed about the possibility of advancing Kosovo and the EU at the contractual level, in compliance with the previous recommendations of the European Commission.
President Jahjaga said that the contractual relationship with the EU would help Kosovo on the path of integration and the deepening of domestic reforms. President Jahjaga said that Kosovo has met all the additional obligations that are required for initiating the dialogue on visa liberalization, and stressed the need to start this process without delay.
Commissioner Füle stressed that Kosovo should intensify the implementation of reforms for realization of the aspirations for integration into the EU. Mr. Füle also announced the visit of the assessment mission of the European Commission to see the implementation of the obligations of Kosovo to open dialogue on visa liberalization.
