The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Mrs. Atifete Jahjaga sent a telegram of condolences to the President of the Republic of Turkey, Mr. Abdullah Gül, on the death of 12 Turkish soldiers in Afghanistan.
In the telegram it is said:
Honourable President Gül,
With deep regret we accepted the news of the death of twelve Turkish soldiers as peacekeepers within NATO, in Afghanistan, after the crash of the military helicopter.
On behalf of the institutions of the Republic of Kosovo, its citizens and my personal behalf, please accept our sincere condolences on the occasion of this heavy loss for your people and army.
We are saddened by this tragic loss and in these moments of sorrow for your people, we extend to you our support and condolences to the families who lost their loved ones in this accident during their noble mission to build a safer world and a more sustainable future for younger generations.
With reverence for their work and your commitment to peace, I would like to express the highest assurances of the institutions of the Republic of Kosovo.
