President of the Republic of Kosovo, Mrs. Atifete Jahjaga, received today at a meeting the former general assistant secretary of FIFA, French diplomat Mr. Jerome Champagne, to whom she awarded the Presidential Medal of Merits, for his contribution to the internationalisation of Kosovar sports.
Mr. Champagne, at the meeting with the President as accompanied by the Deputy Ambassador of the Republic of France in Kosovo, Ms. Lise Motomalaya, Minister Memli Krasniqi, President of the Football Federation of Kosovo, Mr. Fadil Vokrri and other representatives of the Kosovar sports.
President Jahjaga stated that Kosovo is today one with France in her pain for the innocent victims of a heinous terrorist act, directed towards the common values and freedoms of both our societies.
President Jahjaga, expressing the gratitude to Mr. Champagne for his great help to the Kosovar sports, especially in football, said that young men and women of Kosovo are now able to represent their state and express whole of their talent.
French diplomat, Mr. Jerome Champagne, said that he is deeply touched by the hospitality in Kosovo, by the support that people of France have received at these hard times of terrorist attacks and that he is honoured by the award he has been bestowed with.
He also said that Kosovo will continue to have friends abroad who will help her in consolidation of its sport, especially football, on the international arena.
