The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Madam Atifete Jahjaga, received today in a farewell meeting the US Ambassador in Kosovo, Mrs. Tracey Ann Jacobson, to whom she awarded the Order for Peace, Democracy and Humanism “Dr. Ibrahim Rugova” for special contribution in peace-building, the development of democracy and the cultivation of humanism in the Republic of Kosovo.
President Jahjaga thanked Ambassador Jacobson for the continued support to the citizens and institutions of Kosovo and also for the support of the democratic processes through which the country is passing. President Jahjaga praised the friendship of Ambassador Jacobson and the worthy representation of the USA in Kosovo.
Ambassador Jacobson thanked President Jahjaga for honoring her with the Presidential Medal and assessed the friendship with the citizens of Kosovo as very special. She also appreciated the role and commitment of President Jahjaga as a factor of unity and stressed that Kosovo should continue to be built as a democratic and inclusive country
