President Atifete Jahjaga’s congratulation on the beginning of the new academic year 2014/2015

The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Madam Atifete Jahjaga, on the occasion of the beginning of the new academic year 2014/2015 congratulated all the students, teachers and academic staff.

In the congratulation it is said:

The new academic year marks the beginning of the battle for acquiring knowledge and the desire to enter the real world full of willingness, enthusiasm and readiness to make it better and more stable. The new academic year is the beginning of the realization of the goals of each student to a more advanced and more developed society, an inseparable part of which they will be themselves.

I wish that the new academic year will be the year of success and of fulfillment of the visions for a different future for all the young men and women – students today for the first time and those who are progressing toward the completion of the studies – a future similar to the youth of the developed and democratic world.

This future will be built together, through the spirit that conveys the needs for a hard work which is awaiting us as a society and as a country. A breath of deep reform in the field of education, where the dignity of students and teachers will be preserved; where the values, knowledge and capabilities of each individual will be respected; where the quality of education in general will be increased which will enable the development and progress of the state, which will offer more opportunities to young people; and where the reform will be seen as a necessity and must to make education in general an independent, autonomous and professional system.

This is an important year for the country, for you and for all of Us – citizens of the Republic of Kosovo. A year when we need to show our ability and the opportunities we have to realize the dream of those who have sacrificed for our present. The future must be different, more prosperous and better.
