President of the Republic of Kosovo, Mrs Atifete Jahjaga, received today at a meeting the EU Special Representative in Kosovo, Mr. Samuel Žbogar, with whom she discussed the actual developments in Kosovo and processes that our country is passing through.

President Jahjaga and Mr. Žbogar discussed the proceedings of the dialogue on normalisation of relations between the Republic of Kosovo and Republic of Serbia, being held in Brussels with the EU mediation, Kosovo’s European agenda and the negotiation process on Stabilisation-Association Agreement, with emphasis on achievement of standards and criteria fulfilment, as required by EU.
Both interlocutors stated that 2013 is an important year for Kosovo, particularly on the issues of Kosovo’s European path and on further development of the democratic processes in the country.
President Jahjaga emphasized that this year is an important one not only for Kosovo but for the whole of the Western Balkans and stated that the institutions of Kosovo are fully engaged in implementation of all requirements and standards that will allow for the free movement of the citizens of Kosovo to EU member countries and for the achievement of the Stabilisation-Association Agreement.
President Jahjaga and Mr. Žbogar also emphasized the need for acceleration and completion of the constitutional and electoral reforms and stated that establishment of the rule of law on the whole of the territory of the Republic of Kosovo enables the development and progress of Kosovo.
