President Atifete Jahjaga met with the representatives of the Global Community Engagement and Resilience Fund

The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Madam Atifete Jahjaga, met in New York the representatives of the Global Community Engagement and Resilience Fund (GCERF), Madam Carol Bellamy, Head of the Board and Mr. Khalid Koser, Executive Director of the fund, with whom she discussed about the inclusion of Kosovo in the initiatives of this organization to eradicate extremism and to prevent radicalism.

President Jahjaga expressed her satisfaction on the decision of the Global Fund that in December of this year to formalize Kosovo’s inclusion as one of the five states that will benefit from the fund of 25 million euros for initiatives and projects which for aim have the prevention of radicalism and violent extremism.
 
The President stressed that it is good news that Kosovo has met the required criteria to become one of the five countries in the world to benefit from the initiatives of the fund at this stage and welcomes the visit of the representatives of this organization very soon in Kosovo.
 
This meeting is a continuation of the meetings that President Jahjaga has had with the representatives of this organization this year in Geneva. The Office of the President has communicated constantly with GCERF to include Kosovo in its background.
 
The Global Community Engagement and Resilience Fund has its headquarters in Geneva and was established as a global effort through the public-private partnership, in collaboration with the governments, the civil society and the private sector, to support the efforts of countries to address violent extremism and radicalism.
