Xhevë and Fehmi Lladrovci are the eternal guardians of freedom and of the Republic of Kosovo. Today we mark the 26th anniversary of the heroic fall of two giants of our nation’s history, who sacrificed all for the freedom we enjoy today. They fell together on this very day, united in their unwavering commitment to the liberation of Kosovo. Xhevë and Fehmi were more than fighters – symbols of hope and strength for all those who dreamed and desired a free and independent Kosovo. The legacy left behind by Xheva and Fehmi transcends time. They crowned their patriotic activity with the act of heroism of falling at the peak of the battle. Their sacrifice is felt in every corner of Kosovo – in the freedom we live in, in the state we have built, and in the hope for a brighter future. Eternal glory to Xhevë and Fehmi Lladrovci!

During the most difficult times for the Albanian nation, “Vatra” was a point of reference for Albanians in America, defending and promoting our national identity and the cause of freedom, independence and democracy. Today I was honoured to visit “Vatra” and meet the members of the oldest Albanian association in the United States.

On the 26th anniversary of his assassination, we respectfully commemorate the patriot, the symbol of courage and sacrifice, Colonel Ahmet Krasniqi, the first commander of the Armed Forces of Kosovo and, at the same time the Minister of Defense of Kosovo. Today we honor not only the man but the values he embodied: bravery, resilience and unwavering engagement for the freedom of Kosovo. Colonel was a military and visionary leader who strongly believed in the freedom of Kosovo. He was treacherously killed and was the victim of a heinous act that tried to defeat the effort for Kosovo’s freedom. The colonel was dead, but not the dream for a free Kosovo and his legacy, thus bringing the perpetrators to justice is our obligation. May the memory of Colonel Ahmet Krasniq be eternal!
