The President: The visit could not be concluded without a discussion with German businesses

The President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani, as part of her official visit to Germany, met today with German businesses, academics, researchers, civil society representatives and with the media.

President Osmani said that the visit could not be concluded without a discussion with German businesses, given the fact Germany is the main investor in our country and trade exchange between our two countries is experiencing a significant boost.

“I had the pleasure to speak with the members of the German Eastern Business Association, various Chambers of Commerce, business representatives and representatives of the Ministry of Economy and Energy regarding investment opportunities in the field of IT, digitalization, industry, energy and healthcare. I assured them that Kosovo is ready to be the upcoming address of their investments”, said the President.

Following is President Osmani's entire post:

Meetings with German businesses, academics, researchers, civil society representatives and the media were an important part of my official visit to Germany.

The visit could not be concluded without a discussion with German businesses, given the fact Germany is the main investor in our country and trade exchange between our two countries is experiencing a significant boost. I had the pleasure to speak with the members of the German Eastern Business Association, various Chambers of Commerce, business representatives and representatives of the Ministry of Economy and Energy regarding investment opportunities in the field of IT, digitalization, industry, energy and healthcare. I assured them that Kosovo is ready to be the upcoming address of their investments.

I also had the pleasure to talk with Ambassador Wolfgang Ischinger, as part of a discussion organized by the German Council on Foreign Relations discussing the challenges of the Republic of Kosovo to date, current developments and the opportunities ahead of us.

I also spoke with academics and researchers at Humboldt University about state-building and the consolidation of the international subjectivity of our Republic. After visiting the “Standing for liberty” exhibition, which focuses on the histories of academics and scientists persecuted around the world, I also spoke of the importance of education in Kosovo's resistance to terror and repression of the genocidal Serbian regime.
