Prishtina, September 13, 2021 – The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani
received today in a meeting a delegation of the United Arab Emirates, led by the Head of
the Department of Health, Sheikh Abdulla bin Mohammed Al Hamed and Dr. Maitha bint
Salem Shamsi, whom she thanked for the support that their country has given to Kosovo
since 1999.
A special thanks, President Osmani has made for the Children’s Hospital “Sheikh Fatima”, which was inaugurated today and is a donation of this state. President Osmani considered such an investment very important for the health of Kosovar children and families.
President Osmani and Sheikh Abdulla bin Mohammed Al Hamed agreed to continue the cooperation in the field of healthcare, with training of health staff and provision of modern medical equipment.
Whereas Dr. Maitha bint Salem Shamsi, expressed the readiness of her state to continue the support in concrete projects, which aim to improve medical services for mothers and children.
In this context, President Osmani committed to deepen cooperation with the UAE in other fields as well, such as agriculture, tourism and trade.
Special focus in the meeting was given to the opportunities for cultural cooperation, as both parties agreed to organize an exhibition of women’s handicrafts.
