President Osmani met with the majority leader in the House of Representatives Congressman Issa, and the co-chairs of the Committee on Security and Cooperation in Europe of the US Congress

The President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani-Sadriu was received yesterday at meetings by the leader of the majority leader at the House of Representatives of the United States of America, Congressman Steny Hoyer, Congressman Darrell Issa and the co-chairs of the Committee on Security and Cooperation in Europe, Senator Ben Cardin and Congressman Steve Cohen.

During the meeting with Congressman Hoyer, President Osmani discussed the importance of American support in Kosovo and beyond, as well as the need to protect democracy and freedom, which in Kosovo has been achieved with many a sacrifice. The meeting also discussed developments on the European continent after the war in Ukraine. Congressman Hoyer assured President Osmani that Kosovo will continue to have strong American support.
 
At the meeting with Congressman Darrell Issa, who is also a member of the group for Albanian issues caucus, the importance of Kosovo's membership in NATO was discussed as well as the security situation in our region. President Osmani thanked Congressman Issa for being an important voice in support of Kosovo, highlighting the various areas of mutual interest where cooperation between Kosovo and the United States of America can be increased.
 
At separate meetings with the co-chairs of the Committee on Security and Cooperation in Europe at the US Congress, Senator Ben Cardin and Congressman Steve Cohen, President Osmani thanked them for the support they have historically given to Kosovo and stressed the importance of continuing this support in the period following the international strengthening of Kosovo's statehood. During the meeting with Senator Cardin and Congressman Cohen President Osmani also discussed the importance of Kosovo's membership in international organizations, security on our continent, Russia's malignant influence and the need for the US to be more present in our region.
