President Macron sends a letter to President Thaçi: In Paris, the commitment to peace was reaffirmed

The President of France, Emmanuel Macron, has sent a letter to President Thaçi, through which he thanks him for his participation in the celebration ceremony of the 100th anniversary of the end of World War I, held in Paris on November 11, 2018.

In this letter to President Thaçi, President Macron writes that this ceremony was an opportunity to reaffirm the commitment to peace and the readiness to strengthen the dialogue and collective action.

“It gave the opportunity, to us, politicians, aware of the past lessons and the complexity of the challenges we face, to reaffirm the commitment to peace and the readiness to strengthen the dialogue and collective action”, said President Macron.

This is the content of the letter of the French President, Emmanuel Macron, to President Thaçi:

Honourable Mr. President,

I was honored by your presence in Paris on November 11, along with ninety-seven heads of state, heads of government and leaders of international organizations.

I thank you cordially.

Your participation in the commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the end of World War I and the First Peace Forum in Paris has been particularly important.

It ensured the solemn and emotional honouring of millions of victims of a tragedy that deeply marked the memory of our people and orientated the fate of the world.

It gave the opportunity, to us, politicians, aware of the past lessons and the complexity of the challenges we face, to reaffirm the commitment to peace and the readiness to strengthen the dialogue and collective action

Expressing once again the immense pleasure I has while welcoming you on November 11 , 2018, and my gratitude for your presence on this symbolic day, please accept, Mr. President, the assurance of my highest consideration.
