President Jahjaga received Ambassador Lulzim Peci

President of the Republic of Kosovo, Mrs. Atifete Jahjaga, received today at a meeting the Ambassador of the Republic of Kosovo Mr. Lulzim Peci, nominated by special decree as the Head of the Special Mission of Kosovo to Belgrade.

President Jahjaga emphasized that opening of a Special Diplomatic Mission of the Republic of Kosovo in Republic of Serbia, is an important step towards normalisation of relations between two independent and sovereign neighbouring countries.

Ambassador Peci’s Mission is of a great importance, as it contributes toward establishment of all-round relations leading to full normalisation, mutual recognition and establishment of diplomatic relations.

Ambassador Lulzim Peci expressed his readiness to accomplish all tasks and duties required with utmost dedication and responsibility, fully aware of the particular importance of this mission, taking into consideration the past relations between Kosovo and Serbia.

Ambassador Peci also emphasized that liaisons officers, institutionalised as per the agreement reached in Brussels between Prime Ministers of the Republic of Kosovo and Republic of Serbia, are tasked to, among others, establish regular, official communication between the two countries and to help towards finding of solutions for all practical issues in order to provide for free movement of people and capital.
