President of the Republic of Kosovo, Mrs. Atifete Jahjaga, received today Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Mr. Hashim Thaçi, with whom she discussed actual developments in the country, creation of the Kosovo Armed Force as well as the democratic consolidation of the country.
President Jahjaga and Prime Minister Thaçi emphasized that creation of the Kosovo Armed Forces is necessary and that it is an all encompassing process which has no other alternative. Kosovo must have its defence force, which will complete the consolidation of the state of Kosovo and become a contributor to the collective security through its membership in NATO.
Prime Minister Thaçi informed President Jahjaga with the continuous consultations with political subjects for the organisation of general, pre-term elections, in Kosovo and emphasized his position that the elections should be held on June 8th, in accordance with other political parties.
President Jahjaga stated that she will continue to play her role of political unifier in Kosovo, respect the constitution and the laws of Kosovo which determine the manner of proclamation of elections, as well as respect the decision which will be achieved in the Parliament of the Republic of Kosovo by the political subjects represented at the Parliament.
