Families of missing persons, who have been striking for more than two weeks and who were on a hunger strike since Monday, stopped their strike following a meeting today with the President of the Republic of Kosovo, Dr. Fatmir Sejdiu, and the Minister of Justice, Nekibe Kelmendi.

Families of missing persons, who have been staying under a tent near the place where unidentified remains of missing persons are being kept, request the process of identification of human remains be sped up and the fate of people unaccounted for since the last war be elucidated as soon as possible.Like on the first visit, President Sejdiu promised the families of missing persons that he and Republic of Kosovo’s institutions will do their utmost to help shed light on the fate of missing persons. “On my part, I will try, together with other institutions, to make sure that we all do our utmost, within our powers and capacities. I support your requests. I share the pain with you, but I am against your health getting worse” – President Sejdiu told the strikers.
