The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Dr. Vjosa Osmani – Sadriu, appointed today Mr. Blerim Vela as Chief of Staff.
Blerim Vela has 20 years of professional experience in the field of democratic governance, foreign policy and parliamentarism. He has worked mainly with international organizations, including the OSCE, UNDP and the Council of Europe. He has advised the parliaments and governments of various countries in Eastern Europe, the Middle East, Central Asia, the Caucasus, the Caribbean and the Pacific Islands.
Blerim is completing his doctoral studies at the University of Sussex in the UK, Department of Politics, where he also completed his Master’s degree in European politics. He completed his Bachelor level studies at the Department of Political Science at the University of Prishtina. He has previously lectured at the American University of Kosovo and the University of Sussex.
Blerim Vela lives in Prishtina together with his wife Shqipe and son Mal. He is fluent in English, with advanced knowledge of Serbian and Macedonian.
