The President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani,stated that today’s submission by civil society of the petition in favour of the Suicide Prevention Draft Law, with the support of over 13,000 citizens, is the right step in this direction and invited the MP’s to treat this initiative as a priority from the very beginning of the autumn session.

In support of the citizen’s petition for the Suicide Prevention Draft Law
On World Suicide Prevention Day, we must all collectively remember a powerful truth: there is always hope! Only through joint efforts can we break the silence, eradicate the stigma and show that no one should feel alone in any challenge or struggle.
Today’s submission by civil society of the petition for the Suicide Prevention Draft Law, with the support of over 13,000 citizens, is a right step in this direction.
I invite all the MP’s of the Republic to treat this initiative as a priority from the beginning of the autumn session. After the adoption of this law, the Republic of Kosovo will have a legal framework to treat this wound of our society and state and will offer the necessary support to all those who are facing this battle.
