The Acting President of the Republic of Kosovo, Albulena Haxhiu, received today the credentials of the Australian Ambassador to Croatia, with non-resident accreditation to the Republic of Kosovo, Glenn Robert Morrison.
Acting President Haxhiu welcomed Ambassador Morrison to Kosovo and wished him success in his new tenure, expressing gratitude for the support that Australia has provided to Kosovo during the war, for the early recognition of independence and for the continued support in the years that followed.
“We highly appreciate the support that Australia has provided to Kosovo in crucial periods for our country, as well as its continued support after the declaration of independence”, said Acting President Haxhiu.
During the meeting, the possibilities of further expanding relations between Kosovo and Australia were discussed, especially in the areas of economy, investment, education, technology and security.
“Despite the geographical distance, our countries have built good relations, which are also strengthened by the Albanian community that has been part of Australian society for decades. There is room to transform this closeness into even greater cooperation in areas of common interest,” emphasized Acting President Haxhiu.
Acting President Haxhiu also emphasized the progress that Kosovo has made over the years in strengthening the state and democracy, in advancing its international position, as well as the country’s goals for further development.
