The Acting President of the Republic of Kosovo, Albulena Haxhiu, participated tonight in the Gala Evening held on the occasion of the recognition of the Kosovo Accreditation Agency by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation in the United States of America.
Acting President Haxhiu, in her address to the participant, said that it is a pleasure to be with you tonight, to jointly mark an important achievement for higher education in the Republic of Kosovo.
An achievement that, according to Acting President Haxhiu, gives credibility to academic work in our country, strengthens trust in our institutions and places Kosovo worthily on the international map of quality in education.
“The recognition of the Kosovo Agency for Accreditation by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation in the United States of America is a great achievement for our institutions, for our universities, for professors, for students and for every family, which sees education as the most honest path to progress”, said Acting President Haxhiu.
According to her, higher education is one of the noblest ways in which a country prepares its future, adding further that in the university, society learns to think more clearly, to judge justly and to convert knowledge into development.
“Therefore, trust in higher education is so precious. Because, when you trust a diploma, you trust the effort of the student, the work of the professor, and the institution that awarded that diploma. This is also how the seriousness of the state towards knowledge, towards merit, and towards quality is measured”, emphasized Acting President Haxhiu.
Acting President Haxhiu said that this is why this recognition is of a particular importance.
“It demonstrates that the Kosovo Accreditation Agency has entered a wider circle of trust, where quality is not self-proclaimed, but is assessed by others. The trust of international partners shows that Kosovo is building standards comparable to the democratic and academic world, and when we talk about standards, it seems as if we are talking about technical regulations, but they are the language with which a state tells its citizens: Your efforts will be recognized and your knowledge will be valued,” said Acting President Haxhiu.
She thanked the Kosovo Accreditation Agency, the State Council of Quality, the professional teams and all those who have worked on this important process. She also thanked the Embassy of the United States of America for its continued support in this important process.
“Kosovo and the United States have built a partnership that has been proven in the most decisive moments of our history. Today, this partnership is also being seen in the areas which build Kosovo’s future, in education, in quality, in professional capacities, and in the trust that our institutions earn abroad,” emphasized Acting President Haxhiu.
In conclusion, Acting President Haxhiu said that may this achievement be another step towards a Kosovo where knowledge is honoured, merit is protected, and higher education becomes one of the most secure pillars of our national development!
