Acting President Haxhiu: Journalism with integrity is a service to citizens and to the Republic

The Acting President of the Republic of Kosovo, Albulena Haxhiu, expressed her gratitude on World Press Freedom Day to all those who work with integrity to keep our public space accurate and fair.

“Our era is characterized by a rapid pace of information, and the challenges to distinguish fact from interpretation are increasingly greater. The role of professional media and dedicated journalists remains essential for the fair information of citizens because when the truth is violated, when the news is confused with manipulation, when half-truths take the place of facts and when hidden interests speak on behalf of the public, citizens lose orientation and democracy weakens”, said Acting President Haxhiu.

According to her, the public space needs honesty, facts, verification and responsibility, further adding that these are values that strengthen trust and keep our democracy healthy.

She thanked all media workers who verify facts, broadcast news and serve the public with honesty!

“Journalism with integrity is a service to the citizens and to the Republic”, said Acting President Haxhiu.
