President of the Republic of Kosovo, Mrs. Atifete Jahjaga, received today at a meeting the President of the Democratic Party of Albania, Mr. Lulzim Basha.
President Jahjaga discussed the Mr. Basha overall developments in our country, with special emphasis on the latest developments in the Parliament of the Republic of Kosovo as well as other processes related to the visa liberalisation requirements, in lieu of signing of the Stabilisation Association Agreement, and the dialogue process being held in Brussels, between the Republic of Kosovo and Republic of Serbia.
President Jahjaga also informed Mr. Basha with her initiatives towards finding of solution for the two request made by the opposition, which have to do with the Association of Serbian Majority Municipalities and with the demarcation process of the state border between Republic of Kosovo and Republic of Montenegro. Madam President stated that the decision of the Constitutional Court is the guideline for the government on how to act on establishment of the Association of Serbian Majority Municipalities, and as far as demarcation is concerned, an independent commission consisting of international experts will start its work very soon in order to analyze the whole process.
President Jahjaga and President of the Democratic Party of Albania, Mr. Lulzim Basha also spoke about the dialogue between Republic of Kosovo and Serbia.
Madam President underlined the importance of implementation of agreements reached during this process and asked that implementation of these agreements is made a precondition of Serbia’s EU integration process.
President of the Democratic Party of Albania, Mr. Lulzim Basha, expressed his appreciation and support for the work and exceptional role which President Jahjaga has played as the factor of unity in Kosovo. He emphasized that President Jahjaga has demonstrated that she has been the best choice for Kosovo and highly praised her contribution to the future of the Republic of Kosovo.
