The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, said that 27 years ago, Mother Ferdonije experienced the pain that never goes away.
President Osmani wrote:
27 years ago, Mother Ferdonije experienced the pain that never goes away.
Her four sons and her husband were forcefully abducted by the forces of the Serbian genocidal regime.
The remains of the two sons have been found, a piece of the truth has been revealed. But for the other two sons and their husband, the wait continues. A wait that is not only hers, but of our entire society. A wound that has not as yet been healed.
Her story is a story of pain, but also of extraordinary strength. It is proof that a mother’s love never gives up, that memory does not fade and that the search for justice does not stop.
We bow respectfully to her resilience and reaffirm our commitment to ensuring justice is served.
