The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, participated today at the memorial academy on the 27th anniversary of the fall of activists Latif Berisha and Agim Hajrizi.
President Osmani wrote:
For those of us who grew up in Mitrovica, the date of March 24th is not only a date of remembrance. It is also the memory of the extraordinary strength of the Hajrizi family and the Berisha family, but also of the pride that this city has given to Kosovo, men and women who never bowed down.
Today, on the anniversary of March 24, 1999, we honorably remember Professor Latif Berisha and Agim Hajrizi, along with his mother and little Ilir, killed by the genocidal regime of Serbia on one of the most decisive days for Kosovo.
At the memorial academy and in visits to their families, today we respectfully bow to their sacrifice, renewing our commitment that they will live forever in the history and conscience of our state.
May God bless the Hajrizi family, the Berisha family and the Republic of Kosovo.
Eternal glory to all those who fell for freedom
