The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, received the United States Chargé d’Affaires to Kosovo, Ms. Anu Prattipati, with whom she discussed her recent visit to the US and meetings with senior officials of the US administration, recent developments in the country, as well as various issues of common interest.
President Osmani once again expressed gratitude for the invitation conveyed by the US President Donald Trump to Kosovo to be a co-founding state of the Board of Peace, as well as for the guarantees given for peace and stability in the region, reconfirming Kosovo’s commitment to continued engagement and contribution.
She also highlighted the issues discussed at the meeting with Secretary of State Marco Rubio, highlighting the discussions focused on advancing the Kosovo-US strategic partnership, with an emphasis on regional security, diplomacy, economy and defense. Madam President reiterated the importance of the US military presence and that of its allies within NATO as a key factor for stability, and stressed that Kosovo’s membership in NATO remains a strategic objective for long-term peace.
On this occasion, President Osmani once again underlined the importance of continuing the bilateral strategic dialogue, pointing out that the partnership with the US is a vital and existential interest to the Republic of Kosovo.
During the meeting, the latest political developments in the country were also discussed, with an emphasis on the importance of concluding the constitutional processes and full institutional consolidation, in the function of democratic stability, the development of the country and addressing the needs of citizens.
Speaking about recent developments in the country, President Osmani also highlighted the significant improvements in the field of security and the rule of law in the north of the country, reflected in the latest reports of the Kosovo Police on law and order during 2025. According to this data, a significantly calmer and safer situation is confirmed for all citizens in that part of the country.
