The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, participated today at Camp Bondsteel in the change of command and handover ceremony of the Commander of the Regional Command-East of the KFOR mission.
The current Commander, Colonel Jonathan Lloyd, handed over the task to Colonel Sam Sargeant. Madam President congratulated Colonel Sargeant on his new assignment, assuring him of the full support of Kosovo institutions in fulfilling his mandate and the NATO-led KFOR mission.
In this context, President Osmani reiterated that Kosovo will always remain grateful to the United States of America for its unwavering support through all state-building stages and in strengthening peace and security in the country. She also emphasized the extraordinary importance of the presence of US military troops in Kosovo, which not only guarantees long-term stability and security but also sends a clear message of commitment to peace and security throughout the region.
