Dear Madam President:
Congratulations on your election as President of the Republic of Kosovo. As the first female head of state in the former Yugoslavia, your leadership will no doubt inspire women and girls throughout the region and show the rest of the world the democratic values and tolerance your young country has embraced.
I remember fondly our meeting in Pristina last year. I look forward to working with you to improve the role of women in the Balkan region and to continue our shared efforts to strengthen Kosovo’s governance, establish rule of law throughout the country, and expand Kosovo’s international recognition.
I wish you every success as you take on this great responsibility.
