The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Madam Atifete Jahjaga, received today the Coordinator for US Assistance to Europe and Eurasia, Mrs. Alina Romanowski, with whom she discussed about the economic development of Kosovo and the aspects of the American aid.
President Jahjaga and Mrs. Romanowski discussed about the progress achieved in the creation of an open society and the establishment of order and law, as well as about the priorities of the Republic of Kosovo related to economic development, rule of law, improvement of the investment climate, energy, agriculture and education.
President Jahjaga thanked Mrs. Romanowski for the continued support of the United States of America for the political, democratic and economic development of the country and the realization of the European and Euro-Atlantic aspirations of the Republic of Kosovo.
President Jahjaga stressed that the economic development based in the private sector, the institutional reforms and the consolidation of the rule of law remain priorities of the Republic of Kosovo.
President Jahjaga stressed that a special attention in Kosovo is being paid to the energetic and infrastructural stabilityof the country to create a necessarybase to attract foreign investment which will create new working places for the citizens of Kosovo.
In terms of long-term investment, President Jahjaga stressed that attention should continue to be paid to the human capital and in this regard the funds and scholarships for studies in the US have had a transformative impact on the young generation. President Jahjaga said that these initiativesshould be extended, especially aiming to include more young people from the rural areas of Kosovo.
