President Thaçi travels to Geneva, Switzerland, to attend the meeting of the leaders at the World Economy Forum

Prishtina, October 1st, 2018 – President of the Republic of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi, departed today to Geneva, Switzerland, to participate at the two day leader’s summit, on the subject of “ Strategic Dialogue for the western Balkans”.

At this forum, participants will discuss in detail the modalities for the instigation of the cooperation among policy makers, to the benefit of a viable Balkans. Through identification of the challenges and common objectives, participants will also discuss the modalities how the international community can support the stability and growth in the region through public-private cooperation.
 
The following world leaders, such as Prime Minister of Albania, Edi Rama, Prime Minister of Croatia, Andrej Plenkovic, President of Slovenia, Borut Pahor, Prime Minister of Macedonia, Zoran Zaev, German Defence Minister , Ursula von der Leyen,

Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavusoglu, Minister of the Bulgarian Council of EU Presidency, Lilyana Pavlova, Deputy State Secretary and Deputy Director at the Foreign Affairs Directorate of Switzerland, Krystyna Marty (also former Swiss Ambassador to Kosovo), Foreign and European Affairs Minister of Slovakia, Miroslav Lajcák, Prime Minister of Serbia, Ana Brnabic, among others, will also be attending the proceedings.
 
Klaus Schwab, establisher and executive director of the World Economic Forum, former Foreign Affairs Minister of Norway, Børge Brende, President and Member of the Governing Board of the World Economic Forum, and Martina Larkin, Director of the Regional Strategy department, Europe and Asia, and member of the World Economic Forum Executive Committee, will be in the capacity of the hosts of the Forum.
 
This meeting of the leaders in Geneva follows the actual dialogue on the future of the western Balkans.
