President Thaçi: SAA, a good opportunity to strengthen economy

President of the Republic of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi hosted a delegation of the Business Alliance of Kosovo (BAK), headed by chairman Agim Shahini.

President Thaçi thanked the businessmen representing BAK for their contribution to country’s development, both in creating new jobs and increasingly more quality services and products for consumers, which also contributes to the increased social welfare of citizens.

“Within the institutional mandate I will support businesses and local products, particularly through their promotion”, President Thaçi said and added that the his priority is to support strengthening the rule of law as a condition for economic development and ensuring the country’s political stability to create a much more favorable climate for private businesses.

Meanwhile, the chairman of the Business Alliance of Kosovo, Agim Shahi congratulated President Thaçi on behalf of the alliance upon assuming the office of the head of state and thanked him for the support in the past and present.

Meanwhile the head of the Kosovo Business Alliance, Agim Shahini, the Minister congratulated the President on behalf of the alliance to take the new post and thanked for the support of previous and present.

“Ever since the beginning of your presidential tenure you have opened doors to private businesses, working through meetings and consultations with the country’s entrepreneurs. This is a good message of support to the business community”, Shahini said.

President Thaçi spoke with representatives of the Kosovo Business Alliance about the economic situation in the country and the tense political situation, which has discouraged foreign investors. Parties agreed that this situation has been overcome and that the return to normalcy and stability will be accompanied also by an improved economic climate in the country.

They also discussed the great opportunites that the entry into force of the Stabilisation and Association Agreement brings, but also for the importance that the progress in the integration process towards the European Union and NATO has for country’s economy, as well as visa liberalization for Kosovo citizens.

“I have full confidence that the beginning of the implementation of the Stabilisation and Association Agreement will create better working conditions for businesses in Kosovo”, President Thaçi said.
