President Thaçi met his Bulgarian counterpart, they speak about interstate cooperation

Sofia, December 7 – The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi, met today with the President of Bulgaria, Rumen Radev, with whom he spoke about the deepening of cooperation and coordinating of the actions for the integration of the entire region into the European Union.

President Thaçi thanked President Radev for the support Bulgaria has given to Kosovo and expressed his gladness that Bulgaria will take over the EU presidency.

“We welcome Bulgaria’s presidency at such an important time for the integration of the Western Balkans into the European Union”, said President Thaçi, adding that “Bulgaria understands the region, the needs and the aspirations very well”.

Whereas, President Radev said that Bulgaria understands well that sustainable peace in the Balkans means sustainable peace throughout Europe and confirmed that Bulgaria will be engaged to the best possible representation of the whole Balkan, highlighting the preparations for the Western Balkans Summit which will be held in May in Bulgaria.

President Thaçi emphasized that Kosovo is clearly defined for NATO and EU membership and is working on reforms, integration and dialogue as instruments leading to the EU.
