President of the Republic of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi, participated in the inauguration of the “Orient Kosovo, glass & crystal mosaic” glass manufacturing plant in Mitrovica.
This plant, which is managed by Faruk Kosumi, is a joint Turkish, German and Kosovan investment, and it recycles glass and produces recycled glass mosaics.
President Thaçi said that the investment in this factory serves as good news for Mitrovica and a good examples which shows that Kosovo offers a good business climate and security for investors.
“Entrepreneurship and private property are the foundations of the welfare and development of a society. Therefore, I am confident that these small and medium enterprises will prove a strong foundation for our country’s economic development, but will also contribute to new jobs and an increased social welfare of all citizens of the Republic of Kosovo”, President Thaçi said.
This investment, President Thaçi said, is also a message for our countrymen wherever they live, to come and bring their savings to Kosovo, create new jobs, open small and medium-sized enterprises.
“I am absolutely certain that you will achieve success and that your investment will provide hope to other investors to invest anywhere, whether in Mitrovica or Kosovo-wide”, President Thaçi added.
After the inauguration ceremony, President Thaçi discussed with the workers of the factory, the majority of them women.
The factory, which covers all Kosovan market and soon expects to beging exporting in the region and beyond, currently has fourty employees and, by the end of this year, expects to employ a hundred peoples.
