President Thaçi concluded the visit to Canada

The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi has concluded the several days visit in Canada, where he was a panelist at the 10th jubilee edition of the International Economic Forum “Toronto Global Forum”, which was held under the auspices of the International Economic Forum of the Americas (IEFA).

At the Forum entitled “Leading in uncertain times”, in front of over 100 speakers and 2600 delegates from over 40 countries, President Thaçi presented the achievements of Kosovo as a new country with great economic opportunities and a secure Euro-Atlantic future, and stressed that the case of Kosovo is very specific because the development of the middle class has been associated with numerous challenges

He expressed his satisfaction with the interest of Canadian companies for their interest to come and invest in Kosovo in the sectors of mining, energy, winter tourism, etc.

The Head of State has developed several meetings with senior heads of the Canadian state. “In the meetings with the Governor General of Canada, David Johnston and with the Prime Minister of Ontario, Kathleen Wynne, we confirmed the deepening of the close cooperation between the states of Kosovo and Canada, at all levels”, said President Thaçi.

President Thaçi cordially thanked the Canadian friends for their unsparing support for Kosovo, before, during and after the war, adding that he has agreed with them for a dynamic agenda of cooperation in economy, trade, education, and for new investments”, added President Thaçi.

During his visit to Canada, President Thaçi has also met with the Prime Minister of the Republic of Guinea, Mamady Youle, the founder of the Global Economic Forum of Toronto, Gil Rémillard, the Minister of Ontario for Citizenship and Immigration, Laura Albanese, and the Mayor of Mississaugas, Bonnie Crombie.

“Also, I had the opportunity to meet our compatriots who live and work in Canada. I was encouraged by the level of their integration in social, cultural, political and economic life in Canada”, concluded the President of the Republic of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi.
