President Sejdiu meets the new President of Croatia, Ivo Josipović

The President of Republic of Kosovo, Dr. Fatmir Sejdiu, participated today in new President of Croatia Ivo Josipović’s swearing-in ceremony, which was also attended by presidents and senior representatives of countries of the region and beyond.

Following the swearing-in ceremony, President Sejdiu had a separate meeting with President Josipović.
President Sejdiu congratulated Mr. Josipović on his election as President of Croatia and reaffirmed Republic of Kosovo’s willingness to strengthen the cooperation with Croatia in all areas. He said that, in terms of cooperation, a special importance will be attached to encouraging joint ventures by companies of both countries and to the support that Croatia will provide to Kosovo on its way to Euro-Atlantic integrations.
President Josipović reconfirmed Croatia’s willingness to support Kosovo and stressed out that Republic of Kosovo already represents an internationally recognized reality.
He said that he will personally engage in ensuring that the entire region becomes a part of the European Union in a near future.
“We are ready to share experiences that we have gathered so far in our preparations for accession to the EU, so that Kosovo can move on more quickly in this direction”, he said.
The meeting revealed again the important role played by the Albanian diaspora in Croatia, which has provided an important contribution to the economic growth of Croatia at all stages of its development as well as nowadays.
Both presidents expressed their readiness to strengthen bilateral relations by increasing the frequency of visits between high delegations of both countries.
