The President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani, during her visit to New York participated in the traditional lunch with the heads of states of the Western Balkans, organized by the European Union High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security, Josep Borrell.
In front of her counterparts, President Osmani reiterated that four years have passed since EU institutions concluded that Kosovo has met all the criteria for visa liberalization.
In this context, President Osmani requested an urgent conclusion on the issue of visa liberalization and emphasized Kosovo's commitment to peace and stability, for its Euro-Atlantic path.
In relation to Russia's aggression on Ukraine, President Osmani pointed out that Kosovo has joined the sanctions against Russia and that no one in the region should serve as its proxy in order to destabilize the region.
In the meeting with the heads of states of the Western Balkans organized by Mr. Borrell, President Osmani also asked for EU support in overcoming the energy crisis this winter.
