The President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani represented the Republic of Kosovo at the EU-Western Balkans Summit.
President Osmani wrote:
The EU-Western Balkans Summit remains an important platform for our region. For this reason, in conversations with the leaders of EU institutions and member states, I emphasized that:
* Kosovo’s future in the EU is inevitable and remains a daily engagement for us;
* If the principle of meritocracy is respected, as proclaimed, then concrete steps must be taken on this journey, starting with the immediate processing of our membership application and the lifting of measures against Kosovo that are unjust and un-European;
* There can be no successful integration of the Western Balkan countries if peace and security are constantly jeopardized. Hence, Serbia’s accountability for the ongoing acts of aggression against Kosovo is key;
* Despite the challenges, Kosovo does not give up on its integration into Euro-Atlantic institutions because, above all, this is the will of our people.
